The Gift of Travel

In December of 2016 we started a tradition without even realizing it. Those traditions seem to always be the best as they happen so naturally. In 2016 we decided to take an afternoon trip to Nashville to visit ICE! We had a 2 year old and 5 year old, but loaded up in the car for the trek to an adventure.

If you have never visited ICE! it is a great experience. (Now things may have changed as this was our trip six years ago!) When we arrived we checked in and visited all the ice sculptures. The theme changes yearly which encourages visitors to come back. The year we went was a Rudolph theme.

My only word of encouragement would be to make sure you keep a close eye on those kiddos as everyone looks the same and it can get very crowded.

After visiting the ICE! we went into the Opryland Hotel which was all dressed up for the season. It was beautiful. You could make plans to stay overnight, but you better book reservations early. We continued the festivities with a train ride, gingerbread decorating, and Build-A-Bear!

Overall it was an amazing experience! From this year forward we have planned a pre-Christmas trip as part of our family tradition. If you have the time to carve out a special trip then I would encourage giving the gift of quality time and experience this season.
