It’s Not the Card That Counts

Events happen all the time! Baby showers, wedding showers, birthdays, anniversaries, and more! Once online shopping started to become more popular and Amazon Prime delivering packages quickly, I began to purchase most of the gifts through those sources. In doing that, I was always having to run to the store just to grab a card. Or if the kids wanted to give a friend money for a birthday, I would have to make a trip just to get a card.

That’s when I started buying bulk blank cards for all occasions. These cards come with various designs and blank interiors. This allows me to select a card and then write a more personalized message inside for the recipient.

What are the Advantages of Buying Cards in Bulk?

  1. Saves money-Cards are expensive! Most of the time if you are purchasing a single card at a local store you can spend anywhere from .99 cents to $6.00. With the most recent bulk purchase I made, I paid approximately .44 cents per card.
  2. Makes the inside more intentional-With a blank card and a generic design then I am forced to write a more specific message inside. Typically this involves me including a word of encouragement or a verse for the season. If it is a birthday party then it allows my children to write more notes for their friends. And let’s be real…if someone is saving a card, typically they are saving it for the personal message written by the giver, not the design.
  3. Always on hand-Accidentally forgot about that upcoming party? No worries, cards are on hand at home. Grab some cash and I am ready for the event. Need to write a thank you note? These blanks cards can be used for that as well! No matter what, they are always available.

I struggled a little with perceptions from others when I first switched to these cards. Then I realized that this was saving me time, money, and providing me with the opportunity to be more intentional to the recipient so the benefits greatly outweighed any concerns.
